2012 Sydney Film Festival Awards Results

'Alps' and 'Killing Anna' are the big winners at this year's festival.

After a strong festival filled with many worthy features, the 2012 Sydney Film Festival closed with the announcement of the award winners. Out of a selection of twelve films, the 2012 SFF Official Competition Prize was surprisingly awarded to Yorgos Lanthimos’ Alps, starring Aggeliki Papoulia, Aris Servetalis and Johnny Verkis. The jury comprised of Rachel Ward as Jury President, award-winning filmmakers Amiel Courtin-Wilson (Australia) and Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (Chad), Variety critic Boyd van Hoeij (The Netherlands) and acclaimed producer Lorna Tee (Hong Kong). Strong favourites took out the other categories, with Killing Anna taking home the FOXTEL Australian Documentary Prize. All of the winners are listed below, highlighted in BOLD.
