Johan Earl, the director and co-star of the new action film 9 Hours To Dawn, has confirmed that while it was initially set to shoot in Detroit, state financing changes in Michigan means the production has been brought back to Sydney.
The $2.5 million dollar feature will spend a large amount of its budget in post-production to transform Sydney into “a giant urban decaying city”, as well as to generate realistic special effects.
Currently in its pre-production stages, the film follows a rogue cop who has until dawn to kill several witnesses in a major criminal trial, with failure bringing fatal consequences. The privately invested feature is scheduled to shoot between October and December, with a 2012 release likely.
