Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is that time of year! The Melbourne International Film Festival has launched its programme and it is a doozy! From the 21st of July until the 7th of August, audiences will devour new films by Sion Sono, Raul Ruiz, Aki Kaurismaki and many others. As well as this, MIFF has a special retrospective section, with films from Ozu, Scorsese and even Straub-Huillet (calm down, cinephiles)!
To celebrate the launch, we have the entire festival programme listed below. We have provided the directors and country for every feature film at the festival and also list out the short film programs. While the list may seem overwhelming at the moment, we will be doing previews of each section – including our picks – before the festival to help you out.
