Now becoming an annual tradition, the Melbourne International Film Festival has announced its selection of Cannes Film Festival titles for its 2012 festival. Already announcing Amour, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Moonrise Kingdom in its First Glance titles, Melbourne audiences can enjoy other Sydney Film Festival highlights including Walter Salles’ adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, Ken Loach’s The Angels’ Share, Korean animation The King of Pigs, Indian crime epic Gangs of Wasseypur and the exceptional Holy Motors. The festival will also feature the Australian premieres of new films by Hong Sang-soo, Im Sang-soo, Abbas Kiarostami, Ben Wheatley and Takashi Miike, as well as award winners Beyond the Hills and The Hunt.
