The New York Times is well known for its recreations of some of cinema’s finest characters and moments, and we have a brand new one to celebrate the best performers from the year in film. Alex Prager has crafted the Touch of Evil shoot: a video gallery of “cinematic villainy inspired by nefarious icons”. While the videos are exquisite, the photos are also stunning. Featuring Michael Shannon, Gary Oldman, Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Mia Wasikowska, Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Rooney Mara, Brad Pitt, Jean Dujardin, Glenn Close and Adepero Oduye as characters from films like Eraserhead and Repulsion, some of the choices are much less obvious but equally interesting and it is great to see them bring the characters to life in their own unique way. Check out all of the photos below!
