The Super Bowl is only five days away, and that means we will be getting a large number of commercials and spots for some of the biggest movies of the year. Even before the event begins, a few have already been released. First up is the 30-second Super Bowl spot for Jon M. Chu’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which not only features music by Jay-Z, but also has Dwayne Johnson quoting him! A sequel to the 2009 feature, the film stars Johnson, Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson/Park, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Joseph Mazzello, Arnold Vosloo, D.J. Cotrona, RZA, Elodie Yung and Walton Goggins. Incorporating a lot of the first trailer, the spot mostly focuses on Johnson and Willis, as well as a few new set pieces – including a motorcycle moment. It does look better than the original and the June 29 feature could be a bit of fun. Check it out below!

The G.I. Joe team faces off against Zartan, his accomplices, and the world leaders he has under his influence.
Next up is the full Super Bowl spot for Larry Charles’ The Dictator, which stars Sacha Baron Cohen as a ruthless Middle Eastern dictator. Loosely based on Saddam Hussein’s novel Zabibah and the King and also loosely modelled after Muammar Gaddafi, the dictator is replaced by a lookalike goat herder and is sent to America, where he must live among the infidels. Written by Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel, and also starring Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley, Megan Fox, John C. Reilly and J.B. Smoove, most of the footage is identical to the first trailer but there is a great joke involving the network hosting the Super Bowl. If you haven’t seen the earlier trailer, this is a nice introduction to the film. Check it out below!
