After just featuring the long-awaited release of Justin Lerner’s Girlfriend, we have another Strand Releasing title to look at. The company has debuted the official trailer for Adam Sherman’s indie dramedy Crazy Eyes, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and is scheduled to hit limited theatres on July 6th. Starring Lukas Haas, Madeline Zima, Jake Busey, and Tania Raymonde, the dramatic comedy follows a wealthy young man (Haas) with a major drinking problem who falls in love with a woman nicknamed “Crazy Eyes” (Zima). I am a big fan of Haas, who you may recognise from roles in Brick, Alpha Dog, Inception or Contraband; he has been acting professionally now for over twenty years, and it is nice to see him in a complex leading role that suits him. While the trailer is a muddled mess, here’s hoping the film is a strong and ambitious piece.

Watch the official trailer for Adam Sherman’s Crazy Eyes:

With too much money and time on his hands, Zach (Haas) looks like he’s living the dream. There’s a steady stream of beautiful women and the party never ends. He meets a girl he calls “Crazy Eyes” (Zima), and she’s unlike anyone he’s ever met before. She’s the one woman he can’t have, so naturally he wants her.
